Track Name: State of Ruin
It's easy to place blame
We've all anticipated the day
when our clouds bring the rains to flood the ruins, we hadn't prepared for.

Serrated truth, creeping on the petrichor,
readying structures for their fall into silence.

Enter the choirs to drown our reason in beliefs, failing to unify , rewarding thieves, creatures of habit,
repeating history for greed.

Nothing profound, nestled in the landscape,
A greater good? Or a greater flood?
The critique ends in wasted blood
as the seas rise to swallow what they yielded.

(chorus)
We've enacted an abstract ideal,
one lulled in waves and rust,
Longing to resist and compress,
a state of anguish: the state of ruin.

Displaced hope seeps out of sight,
Slightly surfacing under a march,
A greater chorus lies somewhere
in the encroaching man-made dark.

Retrofitting the time-line with shortsighted lists,
predatory minds and ravenous fists,
a hunger force-fed until it expires,
calling on fires to light the omnipresent night.

Mountains dust cities, in the wake of warfare,
sighing in relief at our lack of cares,
a collective so afraid that we scream to be heard only to swallow our tongues

Enter the choirs, swaying on the backs of the fallen,
convoluted messages of promise drone over deaf ears,
brittle hands can't begin to lift the tools to re-shape the collapse

and the lapse in judgement, ushers in the bloating tides,
before eyes want to recognize,
that the seas we raise, rise to erase.

We've enacted an abstract ideal,
one lulled in waves and rust,
Longing to resist and compress,
a state of anguish, the state of ruin.

Displaced hope seeps out of sight,
Slightly surfacing under a march,
A greater chorus lies somewhere
in the encroaching man-made dark.
